This past weekend, I had the pleasure of treating my mom to a Mother's Day brunch at the Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen in Niagara Falls. Nestled in the charming Old Stone Inn, this restaurant is renowned for its rustic elegance and commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients, making it the perfect spot for a special occasion.
A Culinary Delight: The Old English Shareable Plate and Avocado Toast
To start us off, we were served a french press of coffee - which is my favourite. Not too strong, not too weak, but just right. To top it all off french presses are just cool, so that was an added bonus to make things a little fun and different.
We began our meal with the Old English Shareable Plate, a delightful assortment that perfectly captures the essence of traditional English tea. This platter featured an array of freshly baked scones and croissants, served with clotted cream and fresh berry preserves. Each bite was a delightful mix of flavours and textures, offering a perfect balance of sweet and tangy notes.
For our main course, we opted to split the Avocado Toast. This dish was a beautiful medley of ripe avocado spread generously on toasted artisan bread, topped with cherry tomatoes, radishes, and a hint of lime. The freshness of the ingredients truly shone through, making it a light yet satisfying choice.
The Perfect Setting
The ambiance at the Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen is both cozy and sophisticated. With its exposed stone walls and vintage decor, the restaurant exudes a warm, inviting atmosphere. It's a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal, savouring each dish while basking in the charming surroundings.
A Memorable Experience
From the impeccable service to the exquisite food, our brunch at the Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen was nothing short of memorable. Whether you're planning a special celebration or just want to enjoy a fantastic meal in a beautiful setting, I highly recommend giving this gem a visit.
